The series was originally planned and written as an English series, but was later changed to Japanese after the success of Bleach. This series follows the life of Naruto, who lives in the village of Konoha. He is the son of a prominent family and has inherited the leadership of the village. He is known for his extreme power and ability to control animals. His father, Uchiha Madara, has become evil and seeks to kill him, but Naruto's friends, who include the village's head, Inui Uchiha, stop him.

The story is told from the point of view of a messenger of shinobi. This character has many new roles in this series. First, he is the Uchiha representative in the village. This allows him to become acquainted with other people and form different relationships with them.

The series follows the story of Naruto, a young boy who begins life as an orphan. He is soon adopted by a loving family but is constantly bullied at school. One day, he is surprised to find a beautiful woman, Mura, in his class. Mura is actually the son of a very wealthy family, so Naruto vows to help her attain her dreams of becoming a ninja.

Mura's father, Tazuna, decides that he will be the one to train Mura to be a ninja. He gives her a small amount of money, which is how she starts learning how to use the new technique called Dragon Breath. Dragon breath is basically the ability to create bowing chakra, which allows one to manipulate objects or people with great precision. After a few days of training, she is able to control it to save her village from attackers, as well as to protect the others she was trained with during her time away from home. Mura is so impressed with Naruto that she vows to follow him to the next village. This is where the story begins to diverge for Mura.

As the series progresses, we learn that Naruto and Mura spend a lot of their time training, but are not allowed to attend the academy. They live out of a small house with no furniture in the living room. They subsist on ramen noodles and when they run out, they buy more. This is actually the main theme of the series as well, because they spend most of their time living life "cheap."

The animation has received a lot of negative criticism for some of its cartoon scenes, but overall, the story is well paced and enjoyable to watch. Many of the characters, especially Naruto, are exaggerated a bit for the sake of comedy. Overall, this is a great series that is worth checking out. It is a great example of Japanese animation, with excellent animation, and well told scenes. I would recommend watching this to anyone, but especially those who are interested in Japanese animation, fantasy, or just basically anything that goes beyond the average anime.

Due to its popularity, a movie has been made about the series, called The Mystic Messenger. The movie is much like the TV series, but it does have some good points. I would definitely pass on this one, unless you loved the TV show and were really excited for the movie. The movie is an English dubbed version of the Japanese series, and is originally from Dreamworks.

For those who do not know, The Mystic Messenger was previously known as No Ordinary Family. I have never heard of the TV series, but the movie seems to be doing alright. The story follows a young girl named Miohana, who is actually a talented seaman. She is assigned to Naruto, who is a pro fishing and camping freak. After accidentally catching a powerful demon, she is forced to help Naruto train in the art of the ninja.

If you are a fan of anime and have never heard of the series, I highly recommend checking it out. It is definitely one of the better ones out there, and is guaranteed to keep you entertained for quite some time. You can stream the episodes online right through my blog, which you can find below. Have fun!
